The New York post is reporting that Apple is looking to expand its iconic Fifth Avenue Plaza Tower, to possibly take over all 61,000 square-feet.

The problem is that they don't want to pay the asking price; which I'm sure is astronautical. However, Apple has helped put that particular corner on the map, and you couldn't want a better tenant.

FAO Schwarz, a fixture in New York for 145 years occupied the space Apple wants. However, closed its doors July 2015, due to rising rent in what became one of the most swankiest shopping areas.

Boston Properties, the owners of the building, reached an agreement with FAO Schwarz - to vacate before its lease expired in 2017. They are currently also in negotiations with Nike for that space.

The going rate for that area is between $2,700 to $4,500 and up.
